Auction # 160382248561 In making my The Original Snoop Scanner Antenna ™ I don't use cheap black high loss RG - 174 mini coax which has 8.4db loss - (8.4db loss means wasted signal not getting to your scanner) like used elsewhere. I instead construct the antenna with Premium quality white RG59 Communications coaxial cable with heavy 95% shielding for "maximum signal transfer" to your scanner. This coax has a permanently attached   nickel plated brass BNC connector with a gold plated contact for excellent conductivity hookup to your scanner. The Snoop helix is housed in solid durable conduit housing with top and bottom cap fittings. The Original Snoop Scanner Antenna™ has it's own mounting bracket pre installed and comes with two screws to mount the antenna to your desired location. This quality construction makes for an excellent durable antenna that will perform for many years of reliable service.  Below is a chart of different coaxes and their DB Loss. Notice: The RG 174/U Also Known As Mini Coax it has a 8.4 DB loss. Even RG 58 has a 4.2 DB Loss Now notice the RG 59 Coax I use on my Scanner Antennas it has a DB Loss of 2.9 . It is clear that the RG 174 has 5.5 more DB loss than my RG 59 Coax. DB loss is basically lost signal in the Coax that never reaches the Receiver in this case here your Scanner . * (You want as much signal as possible to get from the antenna to your scanner) * Cable dB loss RG-174/U 8.4 RG-58 4.2 RG-58/U 3.8 - 4.5 RG-8/X 3.4 - 3.7 RG-59 2.9 The Original Snoop Scanner Antenna ™ is my "Original" design.
