Sony GV-HD700/1 Digital HD Videocassette Recorder. I have a Sony HDV Recorder that has an issue I tried researching to fix myself a couple years ago, but never got around to it. After inserting a minidv tape, I get an error code "C:31:23" and a message saying "reinsert tape." The tape is able to be inserted and ejected. From my research, I believe it is a small plastic or rubber piece that was worn down and needs to be replaced on the inside of the tape deck. Attached are some photos and videos so you can further understand the situation with it. I have talked to Kerry at Video Electronics in North Reading, MA, and he believes it is an issue with the supply reel. Anyways, I have another machine that I use to watch and transfer minidv tapes now, so I have no use for this one or trying to fix this issue. Otherwise functions great. Screen, buttons, sound, etc. Worked 100% until this error occurred one day. Battery/charger not included.
