AN/PVS-5A ITT Corp. Night Vision Goggles Vintage 1970's.
These are the same prop night vision goggles used in the Ghostbusters movie, and the Stargate TV Series.
These are being sold as FOR PARTS OR NOT WORKING.
The left side image intensifier will not power on. The right side image intensifier has an emission point that appears in low/no light conditions, which causes the phosphor to 'flicker'. This signifies the intensifier tube will at some point no longer be functional.
The plastic frame also has two small cracks, which were repaired at some point.
All electronics on the device (aside from the image intensifiers) are in great working condition.
The image intensifiers could be repaired/restored/ if other donor MX-9916/MX-9648 tubes were available to be parted out to replace components/diagnose the issues, by a competent electro-optic technician. Ideally they should be replaced altogether for a fully functional device.
As such, this PVS-5A is being sold as a for parts/partially non functioning device, and can be used as a repair project or collectable antique/vintage display.
Included is the AN/PVS-5A device, plastic USGI carrying case, one(1x) BA5567A Li-ion battery, and two (2x) PVS-5 user manuals, dated 1988 and 1993. Spare batteries can be found on Pricetronic, by searching for Fedco BA5567A Lithium.
